Privacy notice with data protection & your rights
Clear information about how we handle your personal data, your privacy rights and how you can control your information.
1. Who we are
AGS Commodities Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15588225, with its registered office at 64 The Avenue, Pinner, HA5 4HA. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. If you have any questions about how we use your information, contact Sayon Rudran at sayon.rudran@ags4value.com or on 020 8428 5829.
2. The information we hold
We hold personal data from two sources.
Information you give us. When you complete an enquiry form, email us or telephone us, we collect your name, company, job title, email address, telephone number and the details of the requirement you describe.
Information we obtain from elsewhere. To identify organisations that may have a professional interest in the commodities we supply, we use commercial trade intelligence and business contact databases together with publicly available professional profiles. This may include your name, job title, employer, business email address, business telephone number, publicly available professional profile information, and a record of whether you have opened or replied to our correspondence.
3. Where we obtained your details
If we contacted you and you had not previously given us your details, we obtained them from one or more of the following: TradeInt and Volza, which are international trade and shipment databases; Apollo.io, a business contact database; LinkedIn, from publicly available professional profiles; and publicly available company websites and registers. We only collect business contact information in a professional capacity.
4. Why we use your information and our lawful basis
To respond to an enquiry you have made and to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
To contact you about commodity supply that may be relevant to your business. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests. We have assessed that this is proportionate because we contact people in a professional capacity, at their place of work, about goods that relate directly to their role, and because we make it straightforward to ask us to stop.
To manage our relationship with you, keep proper business records, and comply with our legal obligations.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal data with service providers who act only on our written instructions under a data processing agreement. These currently include HubSpot, which we use for customer relationship management and email; LinkedIn, which we use for professional research and messaging; and an outreach services provider located in Sri Lanka. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for any other organisation's marketing.
6. Transfers outside the United Kingdom
Some processing takes place outside the UK, including in the United States and Sri Lanka. Where we transfer personal data to a country that is not covered by UK adequacy regulations, we put in place the International Data Transfer Agreement issued by the Information Commissioner, together with a transfer risk assessment. You can ask us for details of the safeguards that apply.
7. How long we keep it
If you enquire, we keep your details for the duration of our relationship and for six years afterwards, in line with our record-keeping obligations. If we hold your details as a business prospect and you have not engaged with us, we review the record every twenty-four months and delete it if there has been no contact. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we keep a minimal record of that request indefinitely so that we do not contact you again by mistake.
8. Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask us to delete it, to ask us to restrict how we use it, and to ask us to transfer it to another organisation. You also have the right to object to how we use your data.
Where we use your data for direct marketing, your right to object is absolute. If you tell us to stop, we will stop, and we will add you to a suppression list so that you are not contacted again.
To exercise any of these rights, email sayon.rudran@ags4value.com. We will respond within one month.
9. How to stop hearing from us
Every marketing email we send contains an unsubscribe link. You can also email sayon.rudran@ags4value.com at any time, and we will remove you.
10. Cookies
Our website uses cookies to make the site work and to understand how visitors use it. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown when you first visit, and you can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on the site.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first so that we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by telephone on 0303 123 1113.
